Many of William and Charlotte's descendants were baptised and married at Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Redditch, which was founded in the early 1830's. Prior to that, some of the family were baptised in the church in the grounds of Coughton Court, home to one of England's leading Catholic families, the Throckmortons. Most of the Pinfield-Wells family worked in the needle-making industry based around Redditch and Bromsgrove in Worcestershire. It was very hard and dangerous work, resulting in short life expectancies - those working as needle pointers rarely lived past the age of 35. More about William & Charlotte Pinfield-Wells' ancestors
